The Story of a professional struggle in a technological world. Yes these are interesting times we live in. Especially in my chosen profession. Just when you think that you have a focus the rules are reinvented. So the choice is to become entrenched doing a particular task until you become obsolete or to go surfing.
I started my design career with rotoring pens and ivory card, airbrushes and illustration board. Then I found computers. The focus of what it meant to be a designer changed. The emphasis in my career has been about being able to see the connection between an idea and technology. The use of the tool is as much an experimentation with an idea, the use of which becomes apparent as the idea is realized.
Computers are my tools and all I need is the opportunity to express my ideas. The particularities of their operation are unimportant.
